Christmas Crib Donations 2009
Dingle Parish Pastoral Council and Parish Finance Committee put on record their sincere thanks to all of you who responded so well to our Christmas appeal. Two weeks ago a member of our Finance Committee presented Liz Uí hUigínn with a cheque of €1,200 on your behalf towards her Volunteer Missionary Movement school work in Kokstad, South Africa. A member of our Liturgy Group presented Liz with a traditional Penal Day Mission Cross. As Liz served as an active member of our Parish Choir, Readers’ Team and St. Vincent de Paul Conference we welcome parishioners to consider volunteering for all Parish ministries.
A second cheque of €1,200 has been forwarded to the Order of Malta. This will help the volunteers at their Holy Family Hospital Bethlehem in their care and service of some 23,000 mothers and infants each year.
“Ubi caritas et amor

Tá Dia go deimhin le fáil.
Bhailigh grá Chríost le chéile sinn.
Bliain an tSagairt – Year of the Priest
As part of our Parish’s celebration we have restored the monument to the late Rev. Fr. Eugene O’Sullivan in the Seomra Eamainn Bheannaithe Rís (the former Mortuary Chapel off the Main Porch). You will note the legend which reads “Of your charity pray for the soul of Revd. Eugene O’Sullivan D.D. who died on the Feast of SS Peter and Paul 1856 – He fought the good fight – He kept the Faith”.
As a Parish we plan to mark this significant year with further actions including replacing the monument to the late Fr. Kennedy at Garfiney and identifying the resting places of all our deceased clergy. A special Eucharist will be celebrated in St. Mary’s on the Vigil of Saturday the 19th of June.
Enquiries regarding Kerry Diocesan Priesthood please contact Fr. Michael Moynihan CC, Castleisland, 066-7141241 and Fr. Liam Lovell CC, Kilmoyley 066-7133169 or your local clergy.
Ad Multos Annos to Canon Jackie McKenna
who this weekend marks another significant milestone in his long life as a faithful priest as he celebrates his 90th Birthday.
Comhghairdeas ó chroí le Canon Jackie agus go maire sé chéad.
Guímis A Dhia, cheap tú d’AonMhac mar ardsagart síoraí. An mhuintir a thogh sé mar mhinistirí i bhfeighil a rúndiamhra, deonaigh go bhfaighfear dílis iad ag comhlíonadh a gcúram.
A Dhia, ní fonn freastal a fháil ach freastal a thabhairt a mhúineann tú do mhineastreálaithe d’Eaglaise. Deonaigh dóibh, impímid ort, éifeacht i mbeart, cneastacht i ngníomh, agus seasmhacht in urnaí. Sin é ár nguí chugat trínar dTiarna ….
St Therese of Lisieux Prayer for Priests
I pray for your faithful and fervent priests:
For your unfaithful and tepid priests:
For your priests laboring at home or abroad in distant mission fields.
For your tempted priests:
For your lonely and desolate priests:
For your young priests:
For your dying priests:
For the souls of your priests in Purgatory.
But above all, I recommend to you the priests dearest to me:
The priest who baptized me;
The priests who absolved me from my sin:
The priests at whose Masses I assisted and who gave me Your Body and Blood in Holy Communion:
The priests who taught and instructed me:
All the priests to whom I am indebted in any other way (especially…),
O Jesus, keep them all close to your heart.
And Bless them abundantly in time and in Eternity.
NB: Bathroom facilities in the Seomra Eamainn Rís are available to parishioners during times of public liturgies.
