Laochra an Chreidimh II – Patrons
Saint Matthew was said to have been born in Galilee. As life went on he became a tax collector. After his call, Matthew invited Jesus to a feast. On seeing that the Scribes and Pharisees criticized Jesus for eating with tax collectors and sinners. Jesus replied to them “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” He then became a disciple of Jesus.
I picked Matthew because he was one of the four writers to write the Gospels and I like to write. I also chose him because I admire his courage to invite Jesus to a feast even though he was just a mere tax collector. Matthew will be a inspiration in my life as I try to live a life of love and service.
