Stay with me, Lord – Prayer of St Pio of Pietrelcina after Holy Communion

Stay with me, Lord, for it is necessary to have
You present so that I do not forget You.
You know how easily I abandon You.

Stay with me, Lord, because I am weak
and I need Your strength,
that I may not fall so often.

Stay with me, Lord, for You are my life,
and without You, I am without fervor.

Stay with me, Lord, for You are my light,
and without You, I am in darkness.

Stay with me, Lord, to show me Your will.
Stay with me, Lord, so that I hear Your voice and follow You.

Stay with me, Lord, for I desire to love You
very much, and always be in Your company.

Stay with me, Lord, if You wish me to be faithful to You.
Stay with me, Lord, for as poor as my soul is, I want it to be a place of consolation for You, a nest of love.

Have you been diagnosed with confirmed or suspected Covid-19 infection in the last 14 days? 3. Are you a close contact of a person who is a confirmed or suspected case of Covid-19 in the past 14 days?

Thought for the day: The parable of the sower is told twice, in an original form and in a later, church interpretation. The explanation tends to dominate our reading; but it might be worthwhile allowing the original parable to “speak.” It tells of small, even careless, beginnings— the sower scatters all over the place. As we see in nature, tiny seeds have an astonishing, miraculous effect. Go back over your own experience and recall something which began modestly but which in the end grew surprisingly. The reign of God is like that— the modest beginnings of Jesus’ own preaching had tremendous effect. Prayer God of every harvest, it can be hard today to be confident about the Good News and yet we know that is you who give the growth (1 Cor 3:7).

Mass Leaflets are available in the local shops in Dingle, Fionn Trá and Lios Póil, on our Parish Website and at the back of our 3 churches. Please drop one to the housebound.

Parish Masses: We are happy to say that public Masses in our Parish resumed on Tuesday June 30th at 10.00am. It was great to have a congregation again. The experience so far has been positive. People have been patient and observed social distancing. There are a few obvious changes in seating and movement but the primary aspect of the Church as a place of prayer remains.
Anybody who wishes to attend weekdays Masses are welcome to do so. No booking required. Just arrive and sit in an allocated space. The following applies for the weekend Masses. You are asked to phone the office at 066-9151208 to let us know what Mass you would like to attend. Please phone at the following times only: 2.00pm – 4.00pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday giving your name and number of persons (if more than 1). As the numbers are limited you might not get your preference, we ask for your patience.
When you get to the Church you are asked to use the Hand Sanitizers provided and follow instructions from the stewards.
For the first few weeks we will celebrate Mass in St Mary’s, Dingle only. Masses will be at the following times 6.15pm and 8.00pm on Saturdays and on Sundays at 10.00am and 11.30am. Your co-operation is very much appreciated. In line with the Government guidelines, the following will apply:

Thought for the day
The Lord understands us and knows us better than we know ourselves. O Lord, you have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from far away. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. (Ps 139:1–3) He knows of what we are made and so we can come confidently before him with our brokenness and need of his grace. It might be good during Mass today to become aware of whatever is a burden to me now in my life and ask the Lord for his love and healing touch. Prayer Lord, you bore the weight of our humanity to come as near to us as possible. Help us to realise you stand beside us and walk with us the journey of life.

Thought for the day: We do have the saying, “goodness is its own reward” and that, no doubt, is true. We don’t do good to be rewarded but simply because it is good. At the same time, goodness leads to goodness and kindness inspires kindness. This can be true at the most mundane level: if I am courteous and obliging, say, as a driver, perhaps others on the road will be inspired to be obliging and courteous in their turn. It is even more true at a higher level. Generosity of spirit inspires the same in others.
Prayer: Help us, Lord, to be kind and generous in our dealings with others today following the example of Jesus. Amen.

Parish Masses:
Great news. In accordance with the latest government announcement, it is proposed that public Masses will resume on Monday June 29th. As we resume Masses we will be mindful of, and adhere to, all public health guidelines. With the 2 meter social distancing rule in place the seating capacity of our Churches is significantly reduced. For example St Mary’s Church Dingle will have a reduced capacity of 100 approximately. Parishioners may have to register their interest in attending Mass either by email or by phone. Families/households can sit together. Parishioners will be asked to use the hand sanitizer on entering and leaving the church. In the meantime, we continue to pray for those who’s lives and livelihoods have been effected by the Coronavirus, those who have died, those who suffer, those who mourn and those who help. We pray for each other.

Thought for the day
Our times have an air of instability and everyone feels the sense of upheaval and unpredictability. Fear is perfectly understandable. Something similar may be said of our lives as believers. From a “church” point of view, we wonder who will be in church in the coming years and who will preside at the Lord’s Supper. And yet, at the centre of the faith project stands not my condition or even my faith, but all that God did for us in Jesus’ death and resurrection. As Paul exclaims who will (or can) separate us from the love of God in Christ? Prayer: I love you, Lord, my rock, my fortress, my refuge. Help me to take hold of the hand you stretch out in Jesus.

St Mary’s Church Dingle will have a reduced capacity of 100 approximately. Parishioners may have to register their interest in attending Mass either by email or by phone. Guidelines are being prepared by the Kerry Diocesan Office and we will bring them to your attention when available. In the meantime, we continue to pray for those who’s lives and livelihoods have been effected by the Coronavirus, those who have died, those who suffer, those who mourn and those who help. We continue to pray for each other.

Thought for the day Jesus himself practised open table fellowship, to express God’s unconditional love and acceptance. Before he died, he spoke words over the bread and wine, words which disclosed the meaning of his death and resurrection. When St Paul wrote to the Corinthians about the Lord’s Supper, he had to remind them that the sacrament is meant to be a communion among all who celebrate it and to have a practical affect in our lives. As Benedict XVI wrote: A Eucharist which does not pass over into the concrete practice of love is essentially fragmented (God is Love).
Prayer Lord, as gather around your table, help to recognise you in the breaking of the bread and in each other. May we live the communion we receive by practicing both service and reconciliation. Amen.

Thought for the day:
The Trinity is not first of all a puzzle, which in principle could be solved, but rather a mystery, a relationship which is first of all lived, never exhausted and only inadequately spoken of in words. This is true of any of the significant relationships in our lives and true, therefore, all the more so of God. Within the mystery of that relationship, we recognise God, from whom we come, in whom we live and move and have our being. We recognise the Son, the way, the truth and the life. We recognise the Spirit, who helps us to pray when we do not know how to pray as we ought. Prayer: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be upon us all. Amen.

Proposed Day of Prayer for the Parish Eucharistic Adoration Groups has been postponed instead there will be a Holy Hour streamed from the Cathedral on Thursday evening 04th June at 8.00p.m. on http://www.dioceseofkerry.ie/killarney

Thought for the day: The four marks of our Christian belonging are our personal journey, our community belonging, our practical discipleship and our adult integration of faith and life. None of us “inhabits” all four dimensions fully, all of the time, and yet all four dimensions should in principle be there. The good news of Pentecost is that the Spirit, poured into our hearts, enables all four aspects of our faith to live: the Spirit helps us in our prayer; the body of Christ is animated by the gifts of the Spirit; our service of others gets its energy from the Spirit and the Spirit “reminds us” of all that Jesus taught. Today, we celebrate discipleship in the community of faith. Prayer: We open our hearts and lives to you, Holy Spirit: breathe a breath of new life into us all! Amen.

Rosary: You are welcome to join us each evening for the rosary at 7pm on webcam during, May, from St. Mary’s Church. Rosary sheets are available on the website.

Thought for the day: We could ask how is the Risen Lord with us? The New Testament and the church tradition offer a rich array of “presences.” Christ is present in the neighbour in need, in created reality beautiful and awe-inspiring, whenever the disciples gather, in the word proclaimed, in the sacrament celebrated and through the Holy Spirit. Perhaps we do not always feel this presence, but the words of Jesus are a guarantee that no matter what is going on in my life or my community or my church, he is with us, our Emmanuel.
Prayer: Emmanuel – God with us – we thank you that you are indeed always with us. Help us to find you and recognise where you truly are and not just where we want you to be.

Prayer of St. Brendan the Navigator
Help me to journey beyond the familiar
and into the unknown.
Give me the faith to leave old ways
and break fresh ground with You.
Christ of the mysteries, I trust You
to be stronger than each storm within me.
I will trust in the darkness and know
that my times, even now, are in Your hand.
Tune my spirit to the music of heaven, and somehow, make my obedience count for You.

Candles: I am lighting a candle in our parish church each day at 10.30am to join my prayer with your prayer at home, together we bring our intentions before our God of love and compassion.

Blessing
Lord, bless my loved ones and those I have met today. Bless me also this night.

Prayer for strength
May your people be strengthened, O God,
by your blessing: May you be our consolation
in times of grief, our power to endure in times of suffering, our protection when in danger, Through Christ our lord.

A Coronavirus Prayer
Loving and healing God,
we, the people of Dingle, Fionn Trá and
Lios Póíl turn to you in prayer,
confident that you are with us and with all people in every moment.

We stand before you as people of hope, trusting in your care and protection.
May your faithful love support us and soothe the anxiety of our hearts.

Generous God,
fill us with compassion and concern for others, young and old, that we may look after one another in these challenging days.

Bring healing to those who are sick with the virus and be with their families. May those who have died rest in your eternal embrace.
Comfort their family and friends.

Strengthen and protect all medical professionals caring for the sick and all who work in our medical facilities. Give wisdom to leaders in healthcare and governance
that they may make the right decisions for the well-being of people.

We pray in gratitude for all those in our country who will continue to work in the days ahead in so many fields of life for the sake of us all.
Bless them and keep them safe.

O God of creation and life,
we place ourselves in your protection.
May the mantle of your peace enfold us this day and tomorrow.

St ……., pray for us.
St ……., pray for us.
St ……., pray for us.

May all the saints of God, pray for us. Amen.

Mass Leaflets are available in the local shops in Dingle, Fionn Trá and Lios Póil and on our Parish Website. Please drop one to a neighbour or anyone cocooning.

Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that you are
present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love you above all things, and I desire to
receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into
my heart. I embrace You as if
You were already there and
unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated
from You. Amen.

Rosary: You are welcome to join us each evening this coming week, on webcam, at 7pm for the rosary from St. Mary’s Church except Wednesday, The Feast of Our Lady of Fatima. The Rosary will be recited at 3pm, on Wednesday, as we join with others throughout the Diocese at this time.
Rosary sheets are available on the website.

Offertory Collection: Weekly Env: €902. Míle Buíochas.

Candles: Many of you at home are in the habit of lighting candles in the church. The small lit candle reminds us of our prayer intention for a loved family member, or a petition for someone who is sick or going through a difficult time. The candle reminds us of Jesus being the light of the world, and the light that brings hope and courage to our lives. So during these days, you might like to light a candle at home for your prayer intentions….and when you see the light, you are reminded to pray once again for your loved one.
I am lighting a candle in our parish church each day at 10.30am to join my prayer with your prayer at home, together we bring our intentions before our God of love and compassion.
Thought for the day: Jesus is already now today our way, our truth and our life. As the Gospel says, to have eternal life is to believe in him whom God has sent (Jn 5:24; 17:3). This is a reality for us now and it guides our life, in matters great and small. At the core of this reality is trust, that is, the capacity to entrust all that we have and are to the living God and to his Son, raised from the dead. It is not an accident that the verb “to believe” occurs no fewer than ninetyeight times in the Fourth Gospel. Prayer: You gave us Jesus, the Word made flesh as Mediator, and he has spoken your words to us and called us to follow him. He is the way that leads us to you, the truth that sets us free, the life that fills us with gladness. Amen.
